A proper cabinet refinish costs a fraction of replacement and looks identical to a brand-new factory finish — but only when it's done right. Cabinet painting is its own discipline, and we treat it that way.
Cabinet painting is the most frequently botched job in residential painting. Brushed-on latex paint that bubbles and peels off the doors within a year. No degreasing, no sanding, no bonding primer — just paint slapped over factory polyurethane that no paint will stick to. We've fixed dozens of those jobs. We've also delivered hundreds of cabinet refinishes that, two years later, still look like the cabinets came out of a factory. The difference is the process.
Typically 7–10 days from start to finish on an average kitchen. Doors are off-site for spray finishing for about 4–6 days; box work happens in your kitchen during that time. You're without cabinet doors for about a week.
Mostly yes. The boxes stay attached so you can use the cabinet space; you just won't have doors on for about a week. We tape off and protect counters, appliances, and floors throughout.
Yes — but only if it cures properly. We use cabinet-grade acrylic-urethane enamel that cures hard over 14–30 days. We tell every client to be gentle for the first two weeks (no slamming doors, no hard-cleaning) so the finish reaches full hardness.
Refinishing typically runs 25–40% of the cost of new cabinets of similar quality. For a kitchen that would cost $30,000+ to replace, refinishing is usually in the $7,000–$12,000 range depending on size, complexity, and hardware choices.
Both are routine. Dark-to-light requires extra primer to block the underlying tone from telegraphing through. Light-to-dark is generally faster. We'll show you sprayed sample doors before we commit to the kitchen.
Yes. We can install new pulls, knobs, and hinges as part of the project. We'll either match existing hole spacing or fill and re-drill if you want a different size. Soft-close hinges and drawer slides are routine upgrades.
